Visitors Information
Leatherhead is an excellent centre for visiting London,
the Surrey Hills and the surrounding countryside for cycling
and walking, as well as the town itself. With nine business
parks, it is also an important working destination.
With a high demand from leisure and business visitors
for a wide range of information, the District Council offers
an important service in two centres: the Leatherhead Help
Shop in the heart of the High Street and the Visitor Information
Centre in nearby Dorking within the Dorking Halls. The
Help Shop can provide a wide range of information and services
as well as information on leisure and tourism activities
including access around the town for people with disabilities.
The Visitor Information Office provides a booking service
for accommodation available locally and offers a French,
Spanish and Japanese language service.
Both centres provide a Saturday service. Trained staff
offer a professional and friendly service and a good starting
point for a visit to Leatherhead.
Conveniently situated close to Junction 9 of the M25, main
line station to London Victoria or Waterloo, Dorking or
Horsham, Bookham, Guildford, and easy access to Heathrow
and Gatwick airport by road, Leatherhead is easy to find
whether by train, bus or private car. Once in the town,
a remarkable range of activities are close at hand. There
is a large number of restaurants and pubs, and the River
Mole along which to enjoy a riverside walk. The "Theatre"
will entertain you with films and shows, and if fitness
is what you need, the new Health Club or the Leisure Centre
a number of options from which to select a activity suitable
for you.
