Leatherhead is ideally suited to days out for the family. As well as the obvious attractions of places such as Chessington World of Adventures, located on the edge of Leatherhead, there are other attractions that are particularly suited to a younger audience. Bocketts Farm is one example that provides a high quality day out which is an educational experience and an enjoyable one as well.

The surrounding countryside is also a good place to let off steam. Box Hill visitor centre has displays designed to appeal to young visitors and there are guided walks that introduce them to the beauty of the area. Several facilities in the area offer courses for young people, including Juniper Hall, leased from the National Trust to the Field Studies Council, and Nower Wood Educational Nature Reserve, run by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.
