Around The Town - Shopping
Leatherhead is an excellent place to shop. The compact town centre means that it is possible to reach a large number of shops within a few minutes walk. Many of the shops are provided in a traffic free environment. The Swan Shopping Centre is home to a modern Sainsbury’s alongside other familiar High Street names such as Boots, W H Smith and Next. The High Street and part of Church Street is largely traffic free.
But the key to Leatherhead's appeal as a shopping centre is the mix of retailers large and small. Shops in the Swan Centre, High Street, Church Street, Bridge Street and North Street provide an attractive retail mix. The street market supplements this mix on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Because of the pedestrian-friendly environment, the town is particularly suited to the needs of disabled people. A shopmobility scheme has been introduced to further assist disabled people and is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. The shopmobility office is situated on level 2 of the Swan Centre car park. It is recommended that you book in advance of your visit (telephone 01372 362400).
